Anthrax headlines thrash bill at The Fillmore

Scott Ian's concert at The Fillmore with his all-star side project the Damned Things (featuring members of Anthrax, Fall Out Boy and Every Time I Die) may have been cancelled last month due to the threat posed by Hurricane Irene, but his long running full time band will play the Charlotte venue in November.

Anthrax announced upcoming tour dates with Testament and Death Angel Monday including November 5 at The Fillmore. This tour follows its Big Four shows with Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. In a press release drummer Charlie Benante said: "With the incredible success of The Big Four shows over the last year, we wanted to tour with some of the 'second wave' of thrash bands."

Anthrax and Testament will co-headline shows beginning in October with Death Angel, who played Tremont's Casbah last winter, serving as direct support. Anthrax was actually the first band Testament toured with when it debuted over twenty years ago.

Anthrax and Death Angel will debut material from new albums. Anthrax's "Worship Music," its first studio album with singer Joey Belladonna since 1990's "Persistence of Time," is scheduled for release September 13. Eddie Trunk of VH1's "That Metal Show" has already ranked it the top metal album of 2011. Testament's next record is slated for summer 2012.

Fan club presale tickets go on sale today at www.anthraxarmy.com. Public sale starts Friday, September 9.
