Carolina Rebellion expands length and lineup for 2016

The annual Carolina Rebellion at Charlotte Motor Speedway's Rock City Campgrounds expands to three full days for 2016. The metal and hard rock festival will take place May 6, 7, and 8.

Now in its sixth year, Carolina Rebellion features a mix metal and classic rock legends, today's biggest forces in the genre, and up and coming acts. With more spots on its schedule to fill, this year's lineup includes more in the way of Southern rock, punk and hardcore, hard rock, and classic artists.

Friday's headliners are German metal veterans the Scorpions, Texas blues-rock legends ZZ Top, and Southern rock giants Lynyrd Skynyrd. Other acts are Three Doors Down, Nikki Sixx's side project Sixx AM, `90s rock radio staples Filter, Candlebox and Collective Soul, NC's prog-metal masters Between the Buried and Me as well as Pop Evil, Parkway Drive, Sick Puppies, Black Stone Cherry, HellYeah, Aranda, Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown, New Years Day, former Flyleaf vocalist Lacey Sturm, From Ashes to New, Avatar, Glorious Sons, and IPrevail.

Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, and A Day to Remember top Saturday's bill. Lamb of God, big four thrash forefathers Anthrax and Megadeth, and recent Grammy nominee Ghost also perform. Bullet For My Valentine, Clutch, Sevendust, P.O.D., the Sword, Escape the Fate, Saint Asonia, Trivium, Wilson, Red Sun Rising, Texas Hippie Coalition, Audiotopsy, Monster Truck, Failure Anthem, and Wild Throne round out Saturday's bill.

Sunday's lineup consists of headliners Disturbed, Deftones, and two generations of horror rock icons, Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper along with rap vets Cypress Hill, punk vets Pennywise, rapper Yelawolf, Japanese theatrical outfit Baby Metal, and another recent Grammy nominee August Burns Red. Bring Me the Horizon, Asking Alexandria, Turbowolf, Enter Shikari, Thousand Foot Krutch, Hands Like Houses, Code Orange, and Raven Eye round out the closing day's bill.

Presale tickets are available now at www.CarolinaRebellion.com. They run from $79.50 for single day passes to $139 for a three-day ticket. Packages of four three-day passes are available for $419 plus fees. Two day passes will also be available for Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for $99 plus fees.

Presale passwords are posted at the Carolina Rebellion's Facebook and Twitter pages. Tickets will increase in price Friday when sale is open to the public at 10 a.m. Camping and VIP passes are also available. A limited number of discounted active military passes are available at www.govx.com.
