Concert cancellations and postponements include DeBarge; Black Star

The Superstars of Soul Tour featuring El DeBarge and Rachelle Ferrell Friday, September 16, at Ovens Auditorium has been cancelled. The show was set to be DeBarge's first in Charlotte since cancelling his tour and heading back to rehab in February after a heralded 2010 comeback that included a buzzed-about performance on The BET Awards (pictured above) and two Grammy nominations for his single "Second Chance." DeBarge, 50, spent nearly two years in prison before launching his comeback last year.

The show will not be rescheduled.

Black Star's performance at The Fillmore has been postponed. Originally scheduled for September 29, Mos Def and Talib Kweli, will now appear November 4. This is part of the Rock the Bells Tour (not to be confused with this week's Rock the Bells show featuring Mobb Deep, Raekwon and Ghostface). Tickets for the September 29 show will be honored at the rescheduled date. Tickets are available at www.livenation.com.
