Plaza-Midwood businesses carry on the tradition started by The Penguin with a block party that includes Belmont Playboys, Aqualads, Temperance League, Sea of Cortez and Modern Primitives. Alternative Champs and Poontanglers play the after party at Snug Harbor at 11 p.m.

  1. Is anybody feeling like Charlotte is being passed over by the Big Rock acts on tour?
    Mainly speaking of U2, their last tour stop here in Charlotte sold out in minutes, so the fanbase is here - what's the hold up?
    Some other examples.
    FURTHUR, Peter Frampton's 35th anniversary of "Framton comes Alive", Steely Dan and what happened to Widespread Panic's usual 2 night stand.
    I'll admit that PHISH recently played here but in a review of that show on Jambands.com it was pointed out that for most in attendance it was their first show of the year.
    So I opine that for fans of this music genre who live in the Charlotte area, We are not being fed properly and it's time the local promoters do something about it. PLEASE
